Mini-Me

She might act like me, but she's his mini-me...

P.S. She always sits like this. She "needs" to sit in the corner of the couch where she can put her hand on the arm rest - watching a movie, drinking water, etc. She always wants to sit right here. Quirky little girl :)

David was sitting on the couch with his drink, so she climbed right up next to him & rested her head on his shoulder to drink hers. Love.

FINALLY!

Our house is finally underway! We got so delayed by all that rain about a month ago, but we are cruisin now!!!

Even since these pictures, they've completed the framing - roof & all. So fun!!!

We used to be 95% sure...

..that we were having a girl, but now we're 100% sure we are having a

GIRL!

The sonogram tech flashed this image up on the screen...

...and having already seen this before with Kate there was no DOUBT that we are having a girl :) (Yes, I put this picture up - much to my brother's embarrassment!)

We got to get a good look at the rest of her too - and everything measured out great! She weighs right at 1lb 4oz, which is where the tech said she should be. Here are a few pictures from her photo shoot today...

foot

3D with her hands up by her face - they have been up by her face every time we've had a sonogram!
this one has both arms & a leg across the bottom

Now on to fun things like picking out new bedding, decorating a nursery (in my head, you know since the daughter I have now sleeps in a closet!), and dreaming of matching little girl Christmas dresses!

Baby #2's name...coming soon!

More "Yasses!"

I was getting some embroidery done this week (another post to come!), so I had Veggie Tales on for Kate while I was working. I walked back into the living room at one point to check on her an this is what I found...

SO GLAD my camera was right there to capture that one. I guess she had found my sunglasses & decided to wear them while watching her movie :)

Animal Sounds

Kate & I were looking at a animal book this week & talking about all the different sounds. We got to the bunny & I showed her that a bunny scrunches up it's nose. Cracks us up!!!

"Whoa-ties"

The first few times we swam with Kate this summer she was CRAAAZY! We decided to give floaties a try in hopes she would actually stay above water. Well, thankfully it worked & she wears them. In fact, she LOVES THEM!

She brings them to me all the time & asks me to put them on. "Whoa-ties...on?" She looks hilarious trying to read books, watching videos, & playing with toys with them on. I finally had to make her take them off to eat - she could barely reach around them to get the food in her mouth! Don't worry though, we put them right back on.

I love this crazy girl :)

Little Swimmer!

Kate has been cracking us up lately as her personality continues to develop! Thought I'd share a few pictures & videos over the next few days to show you!

Almost every time we're in the pool she asks for the "yasses" (glasses). She loves to wear them, but I think she looks hilarious!

22 Weeks

I promise as soon as I can find my camera, I'll start posting about something other than this pregnancy!
So weird that I've only got less than 18 weeks left!!!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of baby: 11 inches from head to heel - and 1 pound!
Maternity Clothes: Still a mix - all maternity pants
Gender: 95% sure it's a girl - waiting on our next sono "just to be sure"
Movement: This baby is a mover! I LOVE IT! David definitely felt her this week AND I saw my belly move when she kicked.
Food Cravings: fast food hamburgers - I can't tell you the last time I ate one of these before the past week. I generally do not even like them & always opt for chicken at fast food!
What I miss: having energy
Sleep: sleep is getting messed up again - bathroom breaks, weird dreams, uncomfortable
Symptoms: round ligament pain, back pain, heartburn, Braxton Hicks contractions - ALREADY!!!
Best Moment this week: feeling stronger movements - my favorite thing about being pregnant!
What I am looking forward to: 4D sonogram on Monday!

Happy 20 Months, Kate!

Isn't she cute in her Mexican dress my parents brought her?

--Vocabulary - I can't even keep up with the new words these days! Everyday she says something I didn't know she knew. Definitely speaking in more sentences "I did it!", "I don't want it", "Come on", "Ready? (weady) Set. Go!" etc.

--VERY interested in the potty. Tells me often when she's going - may have to try this out next month.

--Knows pretty much all body parts - learned elbow "belbow"

--new found love of puzzles & stickers

--more cuddly with me lately - which I LOVE! She always has been more with David, but I've gotten a lot more random hugs & cuddles throughout the day!

--LOVES Veggie Tales & Eloise videos. Asks me for them ALL.DAY.LONG

--likes to put our shoes on

--cut all 4 of her eye teeth. They've all broken through, but none are all the way down

--loves to help Mommy

--still struggles to go in the nursery @ church (has for the past few months). She cries when we drop her off, but always stops before we get out the door. She LOVES the nursery at the gym though. Goes running in. Not sure what the difference is?

--still resisting vegetables

--expresses frustration faster when she can't figure something out. We're workin on it :)

--likes to count things & talk about colors - everything is blue "boo" at this point

We have a slab!!

After 2-3 weeks of being put off because of rain, we finally poured our slab!!! It is so exciting to finally see this building process take off!

And, I'll have a proud wife moment & point out David's awesome sign out front!!!

Movement: Much bigger bumps this week - I think I even felt it on the outside last night!
Food Cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary
What I miss: having energy
Sleep: sleeping great
Symptoms: round ligament pain, back pain, heartburn
Best Moment this week: feeling stronger movements - my favorite thing about being pregnant!
