3 Month Portraits

I am loving getting to dress Hannah up in some of Kate's old outfits! This month, I tried to recreate some of her 3 month portraits! Hannah didn't bring out her biggest smiles - but we still got some great ones!

I got Kate dressed "springy" in case she happened to be in the mood to jump in for a picture - I just love this one! She looks so big!

Happy 3 Months, Hannah!

I know I said it last month, but I am still just really enjoying this little girl! Today I was thinking about how the first time around I was so excited for Kate to reach different milestones & loved seeing her new things. While I still love seeing them this time, I am so much more aware of how fast this stage is going to go. Slow down, baby girl!
This month Hannah:

--Became very chatty! Her little voice reminds me so much of Kate's (Here is a video of Kate). This month instead of just one little noise, she now will coo for long periods at a time & respond like we're having a conversation.

I love how her little eyebrows go up and down!

--smiles & looks at me in a way that I swear she's about to wink - such a little sparkle in her eye
--started to really enjoy tummy time more - yay! She'll actually stay that way without rolling over immediately.
--goes to bed shortly after her 8:00pm feeding, wakes for a dream feed at 10:30, then goes straight back to bed until I get her up (around 8am). She should be dropping that last feeding in the next few weeks - so looking forward to that!
--feeding schedule this month has been: 8:00, 11:00, 2:00, 5:00, 8:00, 10:30 I also think she's getting close to wanting to move to a 4-hour schedule, but probably another few weeks to a month with this one

--still taking 4 ounces in a bottle if it's in the evening - 5 ounces in the morning

--same nap schedule: 1.5-2 hours in between each feeding

--mostly 3-6 month clothing, some 0-3.

--size 2 diapers

I decided to (as much as I can), dress Hannah in the same outfit each month that I took Kate's monthly picture in to compare. So, what do you think...

Things she said this week...

I'm going to try to periodically write things down here that Kate says or does that I want to remember. I know I'm already forgetting so much since I don't do monthly updates anymore!

"Mommy, draw a double-doo" (W)

"Ta-da" - said when she does something she knows she isn't supposed to.
ex: Kate climbs on coffee, to which I say her name in stern voice. Her reply? "Ta-Da!" Hard to get mad at that!

I'm sure being in a public bathroom with us is pretty entertaining because EVERY TIME Kate goes to the bathroom, she goes through this cheer for herself,
"Yay, Mommy!!! I did it!! I go tee-tee in the potty!!! I so proud of you!! I such a big gurl!!"

"Ohh, Mommy..." said in a sad voice.
We are still working on Kate going poop in the potty & apparently the first few times she had an accident, I said "Oh, Kate..." in a disappointed voice. So now, if she has an accident the way she tells me is by walking up to me and saying "Oh mommy..."

"Where's Hannah?"
She is OBSESSED with knowing where Hannah is. She asks me EVERY MORNING when she first wakes up & periodically throughout the day

The Story of My Life

...catching up.

I'm trying to take advantage of the little extra free time I have while I'm in Austin (you know, between taking Kate potty 16 times a day - but that's another post!), and get caught up on this crazy blog. I've got stuff racked up from back in November! Before I get to that though, here' just a few things that have happened in the last month or so...

I'm going to keep adding to this list as I update, so keep checking back. Hopefully many posts to come in the next couple days.

David's Birthday Week

This year we spread David's birthday over an entire week!!

Sunday
We kicked off the week by having dinner with David's parents at Pasado's. We had to go early because they were headed to Brownwood for our new niece to be born!

Kate LOVES "Emmy"
almost as much as she LOVES "ice keem"

he's so cute

Grandad with the girls

Tuesday
Tuesday, just David and I got to go out for dinner while the Bergman's kept the girls. It was my first time leaving Hannah with someone besides my mom! They did great of course, and David and I enjoyed reliving the highs and lows of his 29th year of life and talking about our dreams for this year, while having a yummy dinner at Texas Roadhouse!
Wednesday
One thing David loves is breakfast, so I made him a yummy one on the morning of his birthday! Pioneer Woman came through as usual!

Later that day, Kate helped make his cake.

No celebration for David is complete without Layered Chocolate Cream Cake!

Party Time
On Wednesday - David's actual birthday - we had a few families over to celebrate David with us. We had a yummy gumbo dinner, the boys played a good bit of ping-pong & we just enjoyed spending time together.

The kids hanging - I love that Jackson came dressed as a lion to our party!

an attempt at a family picture...oh well.

got a cute one of the 3 of them :)

took a few outtakes!

I heart daddy

We ended the week with my parents taking us to celebrate David's birthday at Big Dave's!

I'd say it was a pretty good birthday week for David! Presents daily, 3 dinners out, friends over to celebrate, gumbo, and chocolate cream cake. Doesn't get much better!

Courtney Came to Town!

My roommate, and one of my very best friends from college came to town! She is super busy with two kids, a full-time teaching job, a husband who coaches, and family who all live out of town to visit. She had planned to come meet baby Hannah right after she was born, but got a CRAZY eye infection, so that trip was cancelled. When she realized she had this past Saturday free, she asked if she could come over for the day (she lives North of Dallas), I definitely said yes!

We had a great day of relaxing at my house - just getting to catch-up and letting our kids play. Madison is always SUPER sweet with Kate & Cooper just joined right in on the fun!

I loved getting to visit with Courtney for more than 15 minutes. I love that we've been friends since we were 18 - before husbands & kids - and we can still share our lives together. We definitely missed the other Bandits (Ashley & Michelle) and can't wait for our summer reunion!

Cooper is SO CUTE!

The girls loving on each other

Madison loved baby Hannah

decorating some cupcakes after lunch

they were so excited when David got home & they finally got to play the drums
(I always tell kids I don't know how to work them!)

We attempted a group shot - this was the best...
...it all went downhill from there...

Thanks for coming to visit Courtney! Loved getting to see you!!!
