10 weeks

Oh blessed 10 weeks, I never thought you'd get here! I feel like I've been living at "almost 10 weeks" for a month now since that's what I was when I went in for my sonogram - 3 WEEKS AGO!!! It's good to finally be here.

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 10 Weeks
Size of baby: just over 1 inch long - like a kumquat (whatever that is!)
Maternity Clothes: I hope I don't need these for awhile!
Gender: ??? David swears he already knows it's a girl. My mom thinks it's a boy. Any guesses? Kate is getting another boy cousin on my side - we'll either make it even or Kate will be very out numbered!
Movement: Not yet - I can't wait though!
Food Cravings: not much this week
What I miss: Having energy!
Sleep: Dreams have subsided for this week - now sleep is just interrupted by trips to the potty
Symptoms: backaches & lack of energy.
It is just amazing how fast that tiny little baby takes over your whole body
Best Moment this week: FINALLY GETTING TO 10 WEEKS
What I am looking forward to: finishing my 1st trimester soon & visiting my family in Ausin this week!

Lost time...

Well, I went in for my sonogram a couple weeks ago & the tech delivered the disappointing news that instead of being 9 weeks and 6 days, I was 7 WEEKS AND 4 DAYS! I was SO BUMMED! I expected it to get moved around by about 4-5 days, but 16??? I was so glad at that point that I was 10 weeks - hadn't gained any weight, thought I was just about through with the first trimester without feeling too bad, and then they slapped me back & put me right in the middle of the first trimester - PLENTY time to get fat :)

So, I wasn't nearly as far along as I thought I was, and now I can really put this one up...

9 Weeks
(I'm somewhere b/t 9 & 10 now)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 9 Weeks
Size of baby: a grape
Maternity Clothes: I hope I don't need these for awhile!
Gender: ??? David swears he already knows it's a girl.
Movement: Not yet
Food Cravings: all things fresh - fruit - just like with Kate
What I miss: Diet Cherry Coke from Sonic
Sleep: Mostly disrupted by trips to the potty
Symptoms: Holy heartburn. WAY more than last time!
Best Moment this week: REALLY being 9 weeks instead of just thinking I was!
What I am looking forward to: Getting through this first trimester

So, my new due date is officially December 26th. (Yes, it will be dangerous if you talk to me about my "Christmas Baby" I am not Mary, this is not Jesus) :-) My dr. usually does repeat c-sections b/t 38 1/2 -39 weeks though, so it looks like this baby will be here sometime around Dec 17-19. Which gives me time to get Kate's birthday taken care of. I've adjusted to the new idea of a later baby & am mostly ok with it. I just wasn't ready for that big of change! Oh God's good timing :)

Happy 17 Months, Kate!

I am so far behind on blogging - I haven't even done Easter yet! We are trying to get our house on the market - so getting that together combined with keeping up with this little girl & being in my first tri-mester that's about all I've got :-) I really do plan on getting all those up soon though. Hey, at least I finally got her monthly update done on the actual day!!!

This month Kate...

--New words: tree (tee), bow (bo), paci "pa-i", pray "pay", cracker "crak-ah", Jackson "yack-suh", water "watee" or "wah-wah", dog "doggie" (have you noticed a lot of words end with "-eee" with her??), stuck "guckk", snack "sna"

--has been EXTRA LOUD! She'll just start yelling for the fun of it...not because she's upset...I guess she just thinks it's funny.

--runs better - still not a full out run, but her whole body shakes from side to side. Hopefully I can get it on video!

--says "dee" on the Deep part of Deep & Wide while you sing

--added growling like a bear (it may or may not sound a lot like a lion...but she does it when she sees bears!), and moos like a cow

--same sleeping - is more flexible if the morning one has to be missed - she just takes a longer 2nd nap

--same eating - still not fond of veggies. I hid a bunch of vegetables (peas, spinach, sweet potato) in pancakes this month & she didn't mind that.

--loves to stomp her feet. She will just be walking along and all of the sudden start stomping. so funny

--understands so much more of what I say her her than she has words for!

--if you ask her if she's crazy she shakes her head fast side to side & screams "ahhhhh!" (was doing this last month too)

--added an elephant to her animal sounds - lifts her arm up by her ear & blows a raspberry with her lips

--likes to walk by herself while we're going to in somewhere

--is fascinated with people's & her own eyelashes. She loves to sit in mine & David's laps & run her finger back and forth over ours.

--plays very well independently

--likes to talk on the phone. She plays like she's on one a lot. If you ask her who it is she says "Nana" - since that's the only person she really talks to.

--tucks her hands behind her back when she's walking/running around - sometimes she just does one, so it looks like she's walking with her hand on her hip.

She is just too fun. We spend a lot of our day laughing & I am trying to soak up all these last few moments of our time alone together. I can't imagine anything better than getting to stay at home & be with this little girl.

Symptoms: Not much yet...just sleepy a lot earlier at night, little bit of nausea
Best Moment this week: finally going to the doctor - had my nurse's visit for health history & blood work
What I am looking forward to: Our ultrasound in less than a week! OB & sono next Thursday!

Hopefully I'll get back to regular blogging later today :)
