Seriously, 1 year old in just 2 months??



This month Hannah,

--learned to hold up her pointer finger when we sing "This Little Light of Mine" - started doing this right after turning 9 months old & will hold her finger up when she wants you to sing it.  She holds it to your mouth when you get to "don't let Satan blow it out".  Has even "blown it out" on my finger a few times!

--added more variety to her diet -  deli meats, cheese

--says "ni-ni" when told it's time to go night night

--cruises fast!  Uses this as transportation when possible - will crawl over to something to pull up & walk along it as much as possible

--more teeth.  strangely though, she cut the two teeth on either side of the front top teeth first - yes, my kid looks a little like a vampire.  she's just trendy.

--uses objects for their meaning - holds phone to ear, etc.

--waves and says "bye, bye"

--"loves" on stuffed animals - holds them close & tucks her head down

--actually uses a sippy cup to drink instead of just chewing or playing with it

--naps the same - 2 for sure, 1 short one at night if we are somewhere she can

--says "da-da-da" anytime she sees David for the first time (like when he gets home for the day) - LOVE this!

Puggles

This year, Kate was old enough to get to start her first year in AWANAS.  It's a huge (worldwide?) program for kids that David remembers fondly (I did Team Kids & GAs), and it is SO GREAT for the kids - lots of scripture memory, great teaching & of course fun!

Kate LOVES it.  ADORES it!  She talks about it all week and then gets so excited on Sunday nights when I tell her it's time  to put on her Puggles shirt!  They each wear them as a part of the "uniform" - it's too cute!

 We got to borrow the shirt from a friend, so with the money I saved from doing that, I bought her the Puggles CD & it is on MUCH demand.  We have 3 of the songs on repeat right now & I love getting to listen to her sing the words.  This age is just too fun!

What she doesn't know is that we are also loving getting to have a weekly time of having a chance to go to dinner or for a walk with just one kid who happens to not talk quite as much ;-)
