Another fun milestone

This past Sunday, I was playing with Kate, pulling her hand to help her roll over. By Monday she was almost there, getting started by herself, but kept getting stuck on her arm. Tuesday, she rolled over from back to tummy for the first time. And by Wednesday she was a pro. Here it is for you to see! Be sure you listen for the grunts of hard work!!!

Did you notice her pull her knees up right after she rolled over?? Yikes! I'm hoping we've got a little while before any crawling begins :)

Look what I found!

Little girl has been busy learning all sorts of new things these days! In just the last week or two she found both her toes & her thumb! She has always chewed on her fingers/hand, but last week when we were in Dallas she added her thumb. So far, no sucking of the thumb...just chewing, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

It is so cute to watch her discover & learn. I know these next few months will be full of even more new things.

...and just because I can't get enough of her huge smile, I'll leave you with this picture :)

Little girls

Ever heard the phrase "squealing like a little girl"? Well, now I fully understand it!

A couple of days ago, Kate learned to make this noise, and ever since then has been practicing over and over and over. She's even doing it now in bed, screeching herself to sleep! It is so funny! I'm sure it's only the beginning of little girl sounds in this house!

4 Month Portraits

When I was in Austin for Easter, I took Kate to get her pictures taken again :) I just can't pass up such good prices!!! My mom was sweet enough to pick them up, and my dad was nice enough to scan them to me this morning. They're a little small, but I think if you click on them it will make them bigger.
We had some made in her beautiful dedication dress,

and her adorable Easter dress,

and this cute, cute Easter onesie. She was ready to be done by the time we got to this one though...so only one pose. It has the cutest little bunny tail on the back of it, but she did NOT want to lay on her tummy by this point :) Oh well...

2nd Generation Bandits

This past weekend Kate and I were planning to make a trip over to Ft. Worth to meet the rest of my family & celebrate my Nannie's birthday. At the last minute, we decided to leave a day early to go stay with my old roommate Courtney, so that she could meet Kate.

Madison, Courtney (who is 19 weeks pregnant! Doesn't she look amazing??), Michelle, Amy, & Kate

Michelle (who also lives in the Ft. Worth area) also came out to Courtney's house on Friday night to meet Kate (and see me, maybe?)

Michelle & Kate

Courtney's little girl, Madison, will be 2 in June, and is just ADORABLE!!! We had so much fun playing. She loved baby "Tate". Maybe they'll be roomie's someday :)

Madison wearing my nursing cover :)

She's going to be such a good big sister!

We definitely missed Ashely & Kendall!

On Saturday, Kate & I headed over to Colleyville to celebrate Nannie's birthday. As usual, I loved getting to play with Connor & see all of my family. It was my dad's family's first time to meet Connor, so of course they were as enamoured as the rest of us...I mean, how can you not be???

Only a week late

It's taken me a little while to get this post up. Oh well...such is life :)

We had a great weekend in Austin last weekend! We went down on Thursday night (since David had off for Good Friday) and got to spend the weekend with my family. I am so thankful for a husband that is willing to make it possible for me to still get to see my family often even though we live so far away!

Friday we had a surprise party for my dad, which he figured out, but it was still fun!

Kate slept through most of it! In fact, she slept in the shower! We were at a family friend's house & the party was in their basement. There wasn't really anywhere to put her where I'd be able to hear her, but was also quiet for her except the shower. So, that's where she ended up!

On Saturday, all of my Mom's family came out to her house to have an Easter egg hunt & have dinner together. It was great to see all of my extended family :)
Sunday we went to church with my parents, then had a quick lunch so we could hit the road & get back to Longview.

The kids were SPENT by this point!

Yep, everything goes in the mouth...including your cousin's hand :)

and Daddy's

We are thankful Kate is such a good little traveler!

Happy Birthday!

This past weekend we went to Austin for Easter(pictures to come!) & to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We had a fun surprise party for him on Friday night (he figured it out though!) and then got to spend the whole weekend with them.

Today is his actual birthday though, so Kate wanted to wish him a very Happy Birthday!!!
Also...55 years ago, his mother (Nannie) got a very Happy Birthday gift of her own! Yes, it's my Nannie's birthday, too!

I couldn't get Kate to look up at me & smile for Nannie's picture...she was very focused on getting the paper in her mouth...

Hope you both have a great day & feel very loved on your special day!
