The girls often bake with me, so the girls definitely know the art licking the spoon. One day though, I happened upon this beauty.

I love how she seems shocked that I was there. But mostly, without be prompted, I just love, love, love her response to my question.

Happy 2 Months, Natalie!

Wait, what's that you say?  You never heard about Natalie at 1 Month?  Oh, well that's because I didn't  post it til today. I did actually write these & take the pictures on the right day though.  Just took me this long to download pics to my computer.  But you can see it here. 

This month Natalie...

--coos much more. Definitely more than Hannah, probably not as much as Kate.

--smiles SO BIG and much more.  I looked back and on Hannah's update I wrote about how when she smiles it looked like she was about to wink at me - and I say often how I feel like Natalie's flirting when she smiles.  She is just too cute.

--is getting some serious rolls on her thighs.  I think she's going to be built more like Hannah.

--rolled over

--holds her head up much higher & longer

--tries to move to a sitting position as much as possible.  rarely will just sit back and relax - even in her carseat

--is SO VERY expressive with her eyes.  Her eyebrows (or where'd they'd be if she wasn't so blonde) are always going up and down & her eyes tell you she's going to have so much to say when she starts talking

--is MY SLOWEST to fully sleep through the night so far.  I know I can't complain compared to some people's reality..but she's really dragging this thing out.  She eats at 8am, 11, 2pm, 5, 8, a 10:30 or 11 dreamfeed, then to bed.  The thing is she's not quite making it to that 8am.  Sometimes it's 6:30 or 7.  Sometimes she just takes a paci every half hour til 8 & sometimes she wants to eat.  I'm ready to move along.  Just one more hour little girl :-)

--sleeps in between each feeding for about 1.5 hours

--has had a few bottles with Nana while we went on dates or shopped.  Takes around 4oz

--has come into her own look.  People tell us often that she looks like her sisters so much, but still has her own look.  David & I think she looks most like Kate, but she's a pretty even combo - same eyes as Kate, same face shape as Hannah - which if you really want to know look even more like me ;-)

--at 6 weeks was 24 inches & 13lbs 2oz - both in the 97th percentile (Hannah was 12lbs 9oz & 24inches and I don't have written down what Kate was at this age)

--does well in the car unless we stop for any length of time

--takes a paci, but doesn't seem to love it like I remember Kate doing.  Only really uses it to fall asleep.  Haven't seen any more thumb sucking recently though!

--is much more content being put down.  Will lie on the floor or in the swing.

I came across this video that I never posted on here.  This was last winter, and Kate went through a phase where she sang this sing all.the.time.  Usually when she was "lying in her bed..."  We laughed all the time when she sang it, so I thought I'd share...

It's just as exciting

I love that reaching milestones with each baby is still just as exciting as it was when Kate did them.  I must confess that Natalie hasn't gotten much tummy time recently.  I do try, but a lot of the time it's just not safe for her to be laying around on the floor with Hannah around.  While I've been at my parents' this week I've been more purposeful about putting her down while there are more eyes to watch!

Let's be honest.  It's just become normal for me to sit down & have to do 6 posts all at once and attempt to catch up.  Maybe someday I'll actually be caught up & then get to stay that way, but for now this is just how life is.  I'm ok with it. :-)

I'm at my mom's house this week, so who knows.  Maybe this weeks is the week.  Here's hoping!

Happy 1 Month, Natalie!

Already a month old!  I was telling my family that I just can't believe we're already in July.  I guess when you sleep through the first two weeks of a month it will speed by!  We are loving having sweet Natalie in our family & can't believe she's been with us a whole month.  A perfect addition to our family, it's as if she's always been here.  The transition to 3 has not been difficult up until now, but definitely required some adjusting & figuring out who is going to hold whose hand!

This Month Natalie...


--sleeps better each week.  She usually does one long stretch - 5-6.5 hours at the beginning of the night, then is up around the same time as the girls (8 or 8:30) for another feeding.  I can do getting up only once!  Not too bad!  I do look forward to the day where I get to sleep 8 hours straight again.  Kate did it at 6 weeks & Hannah closer to 8, so hopefully not too much longer!

--takes a paci to be soothed, but falls asleep without it in.  Has also found her thumb a few times (much to my chagrin...oh well)

--on a great day time schedule - eats every 3 hours (has since birth).  She's usually away for about 45 min or so (including the feeding time) before heading back to sleep some more!

--easily soothed.  barely any crying so far from this little girl.  More than Hannah, since H was basically silent as far as crying goes.  But, if she's crying in the car she stop as soon as the car goes, and stops as soon as someone is able to pick her up if not in the car.

--doesn't like being laid down by herself.  If someone is sitting right there she doesn't mind it, but get up and walk away and she'll tell you just what she thinks of that

--LOVES to be swaddled.  In the first couple weeks she couldn't even really ever be settled without it.  I guess when you are 10.5 lbs you're used to being all squished up!

--transitioned to sz 1 diapers last week.  still mostly newborn clothes, but some 0-3

--started smiling - mostly at Daddy.  so not fair!

--weighed her last Wednesday at Hannah's well-check and she was up over a pound in 10 days - right at 12lbs!
